This event will feature a discussion with Illinois Telehealth Panelists including Kristin Schleiter JD LLM Senior Legislature Support Attorney for AMA, Katie Bohling, Director of Telemedicine Luries Children and Sarah Doherty, CTO TeleHealthnow - see details below.
- Celebrate National Health IT week and provide insight to Health IT advances related to telemedicine occurring within Illinois. We hope to build awareness of the complexity of telemedicine offerings.
- Enable a forum of experts to discuss innovations and support along with challenges with implementation of a Telehealth model.
- Enable us to socialize with the North American HIMSS leadership

Our featured speakers include:
Katie Bohling Director of the Lurie’s Children program in which live feeds of xrays and MRI’s
from outlying trauma centers when fast response is critical is in place. Telemedicine is bringing Lurie Children’s medical expertise to children throughout Illinois and around the world.
“Among the nation’s top-ranked children’s hospitals, Lurie Children’s offers the greatest breadth of telemedicine services to assess, diagnose and treat patients. Currently, approximately 15 programs at 11 sites are already deployed or well into development.”
Kristin Schleiter Senior Legislature Attorney for the AMA with a focus on Telemedicine and Digital Health. She is currently involved with a subsite at MATTER from the AMA. They feature a working group for innovation to support technology regarding Telemedicine, State bills supporting research, CPT updates related to coding for Telemedicine. Although involved on Federal levels of engagement in this space, I have asked that this be more curtailed to Illinois.
Sarah Doherty Telehealth-now with a focus on connecting the right patient to the right service in regards to Telemedine. She is currently working with a platform called “TRUDY” with clinical trials at Rush & University of Chicago. In addition she is versed in the advances related to web/audio to deliver remote care. She recently was part of a panel regarding ACO’s an the challenges related to aligning.
