University of Chicago Medical Center
I am currently the Executive Director of Application Systems at the University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago (Hyde Park), IL and have been here for almost 2 years. Before coming to UCM, I was a Senior Director of Clinical Applications & IT Operations (and at one point the Interim CIO) at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts. While I was in Western Massachusetts, I was also an adjunct professor at Elms College co-teaching a course in Healthcare Informatics. I have been in healthcare IT for over 20-years. I have worked in large Integrated Delivery Networks and Academic Medical Centers.
My teams here at the University of Chicago Medicine are responsible for the clinical, imaging & diagnostic, revenue cycle, population health and clinically integrated network systems across the enterprise. There is a lot going on here both inside the medical center and out in our communities and I am excited to be part of it all. Healthcare is again shifting and UCM is positioned to take on the new challenges and strategies with value-based care and bundled payments (moving away from traditional “fee-for-service” models). Delivery of safe and quality outcomes for our patients is at the forefront of everything we do. I like to say that IT Professionals are “the people that take care of the people that take care of patients”.
